SONGWRITING
By: Laura Alford
She’s my ride or die
And I thought we just might
Taking hairpin curves in the broad daylight
We had the droptop down, the heater on high
Cruising Big Sur, living our best life
We like old school country and our whisky straight
Beach bonfires and staying up late
We like to travel but love staying home
Big bubble baths and a favorite cologne
We can do fancy but we’re never just plain
If you know you know, no need to explain
She’s my ride or die
And I thought we just might
Hauled a huge armoire up 9 flights
We flipped that condo inside a week
But got in a fight hooking up the TV
Somehow a bad time with friends
Turns into good memories
Something about surviving
Clears the energy
He’s my ride or die
And I thought we just might
We drove up to Sequoia, wildfires in sight
Engine light came on & we missed the big tree
Coasted downhill in sweaty misery
We like old school country and our whisky straight
Beach bonfires and staying up late
We like to travel but love being home
Big bubble baths and a favorite cologne
We can do fancy but we’re never just plain
If you know you know, no need to explain
